Ms. Becky Curry
Biography
Becky brings more than two decades of experience in education to Stuttgart High School. Throughout her career, she has championed the success of students with all abilities, focused on building strong relationships to support students, staff, and families, and is dedicated to systems-level improvements leading to greater student outcomes.
Becky joined DoDEA in 2023 as a special education teacher and special education assessor at Wiesbaden Middle and High Schools.Â
She began her career as an elementary teacher in New York City Public schools and later served as a special education teacher at elementary and middle schools for students with emotional and learning impairments. She held multiple district-level leadership positions supporting special education. In 2015, she became a Director of Student Services for Des Moines Public Schools where she provided leadership and coaching to school and district administrators to develop, implement, and expand all facets of a multi-tiered system of support. She also led grant-funded activities leading to establishing Special Olympics’ first Unified Champion School District for athletes and student leaders of all abilities.
Becky holds two master’s degrees in education focusing on special education and educational leadership. While working towards her degrees, Becky served as an adjunct professor at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the College of Education.
Becky was married to James Curry in 2001, and they have two children, Jenna and Ryan. They are excited about being a part of the vibrant Stuttgart community.Â
