Stuttgart High students perform in Czech Republic for WWII liberation anniversary

The Stuttgart Legacy Drumline and Dance Team from Stuttgart High School in Germany traveled to Pilzen, Czech Republic, from May 2–4 to participate in the 80th anniversary of the U.S. Army’s liberation of the city during World War II.

The team, under the direction of Mr. Clarence Everett and Major Ward (drumline) and Ms. Carrie Smith (dance), performed throughout the city as part of the commemorative events. Their appearances included the official opening ceremonies, performances in the town square, and a featured role along the parade route.

Crowds gathered to watch the students showcase their talent and discipline, blending rhythm and movement in a series of well-received performances. The local community responded with enthusiasm, reflecting the strong ties between the Czech people and the American forces who liberated the region in 1945.

The Stuttgart Legacy Drumline and Dance Team left a lasting impression, not only providing entertainment but also serving as a symbol of cultural exchange and historical remembrance during a significant international celebration.
