If you have visited the passport office, dental clinic, or Red Cross you have likely interacted with one of the many career practicum students in the Stuttgart community. Career Practicum is a unique class offered at Stuttgart High School that allows students to gain hands-on work experience for two or three periods of their school day with options including assisting teachers at both the high school and elementary school or working outside the school in settings such as public affairs, the USO, and even military units, such as U.S. Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR)’s J6 unit.

DoDEA Europe is proud to celebrate the Month of the Military Child (MoMC) across 64 schools in 8 countries, shining a spotlight on the strength, resilience, and courage of military-connected children. This month, our schools are hosting a wide range of events that include clap-ins, purple shirt days, interactive activities, performances by school bands, and more — all aimed at recognizing the vital role military children play in supporting their families and communities.

DoDEA Europe has successfully integrated wristwatch heart rate monitor (HRM) technology into high school physical education (PE) classes across Europe. This initiative highlights a strong collaboration among IT specialists, educational technologists (ETs), instructional systems specialists (ISS), and teacher support networks through job-alike Focus Collaboration Time (FCT).

DoDEA Europe has three JROTC programs, Wiesbaden, Kaiserslautern, and Stuttgart, represented with nine JROTC cadets competing in precision air rifle at JROTC National Air Rifle Championships. This achievement reflects a strong season in DoDEA Athletics and impressive showing at the JROTC Service Championships in February. The three teams represent the best of DoDEA Europe. The teams faced-off in the DoDEA Europe Finals 2025 and now in the JROTC National Championship at Camp Perry, Ohio. The field of JROTC teams span the services - US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corps.

Tutoring Works @Seminar

Students needing academic help in any subject matter may request to work with a subject tutor during seminar. Please ask the teacher of the course you need help with and they will coordinate a tutor during seminar.

Independent Work @Dr.Payne'sClassroom

Students may work independently in Dr. Payne's classroom on Mondays - Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:40 - 4:00 PM.

The Army Health Clinic Stuttgart, in collaboration with the American Red Cross and DoDEA Europe, successfully vaccinated approximately 9,000 individuals within the Stuttgart military community.

The CCRS Summative Test is scheduled for April 8-12 and is 90-minutes per test.  All students in ELA 10, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II will test during their normally scheduled class. The entire school will follow a modified schedule of 3 120-minute periods per day to accommodate the CCRS Summative Test. Student not testing will be in their normal classes.

Creative Connections is a prestigious six-day symposium for over 160 motivated and talented high school students, focusing on advanced fine arts. The program offers a diverse range of classes that may include drama, show choir, strings, music composition/arranging, dance, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor, oil pastels, digital art, guitar, musical theatre, drama, and video production, among others. This year, Creative Connections will be November 13-18.

Stuttgart High School is offering the ACT Test 5 times and the SAT 6 times during the school year. Students are encouraged to register early, as space is limited. All test takers must hold a valid U.S. Military ID and have installation access.

The Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program is a tri-service (U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force) sponsored STEM competition which promotes original research and experimentation in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at the high school level and publicly recognizes students for outstanding achievement.
