Hello Panther Families!

Happy 4th quarter! Summer will be here before we know it. In the meantime, 4th quarter is packed with sports, concerts, a musical, student events, AP exams, prom, exams, and graduation- just to name a few! While the weather changes and we may all get a little 'senioritis' around this time, it is just as important in 4th quarter to be present and productive in our classrooms as it ever was.

We will be administering over 1,000 AP Exams for just over 500 students during the first two weeks of May. Please help your students with test stress tips and test prep strategies. Reach out to your content area teachers for their best advice as we approach the test window. While these AP scores are not required to be sent to colleges or prospective employers, we want all students to try their best because they have worked hard all year learning the skills and information to achieve to their best potential.

Readiness with the Registrar

It's time for School Year 2025-2026 Spring Re-registration (eligibility)! This is a required process for every student. Parents must submit a re-registration to indicate whether their student is staying in DoDEA or leaving their current location. Please complete by 28 March 2025. Process to re-register your student(s) for SY25-26: Parents must re-register each student individually by logging into the DoDEA Student Information System (DSIS) Family Portal at https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.do submitting a student re-registration request for each of their student(s).

The re-registration process provides a quick and easy way for families to update information (contacts, Sponsor's employment status, student health) and indicate whether their student will be returning or withdrawing next school year. Expired DEROS or change in employment, please upload appropriate documents, and contact Ms. Matzke. Please also ensure to update ANY outdated contact information! Note: It is recommended to use a laptop or computer when using Aspen to re-register to ensure that the registration process goes smoothly.

Please complete the re-registration process by 28 March 2025. If you are not certain that your student (s) will attend SHS next school year at this time, please pre-register anyway. We can always withdraw your student(s) later). The information collected during re- registration will be used to determine each student's continued eligibility, as well as plan staffing, and resource needs for the coming school year. After your re-registration submission has been reviewed, the School Registrar will contact you if additional information is required. Withdrawing: If your student(s) will not return next school year, or you are having trouble accessing ASPEN, please contact the registrar, Ms. Ilka Matzke (ilka.matzke@dodea.edu).

Immunizations

Nurse's Notes

Please ensure that your student's immunization record is up to date. If your student has recently turned 16, their 2nd Meningococcal immunization is due. You can submit your proof of immunization by sending a copy with your student or by emailing it directly to the school nurse at: nicole.king@dodea.edu

Additionally, to participate in sports at Stuttgart High School, all students must have a current physical on file. Current means that it has been within a year and that the year expiration does not expire before the end of the season. Students without a current physical cannot participate in practice, tryouts, or formal athletics.  Students becoming managers must also have a current physical on file.

Please ensure that you provide the school with a COPY, not the original, so that you have a maintained record as well.

ASACS Support

ASACS at SHS

April is Alcohol Awareness Month!
In partnership with the Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP), our school’s ASACS (Adolescent Support and Counseling Services) team will be hosting a fun and educational Alcohol Awareness Month Activity during two student lunch periods:
📅 Tuesday, April 16  During Lunch (10:58–11:38 AM) Outside of the Cafeteria
📅 Wednesday, April 17 During Lunch (11:37–12:17 PM) Outside of the Cafeteria
This interactive event will engage students in meaningful conversations around the impact of alcohol use, promote healthy choices, and provide resources for support—all in a format that’s both informative and student-friendly.
We’re proud to work alongside ASAP to empower our teens with the knowledge and tools they need to make safe, responsible decisions. Let's keep our community strong, smart, and substance-aware!
