Hello Panther Families!

During the first 2 weeks of May, we will be administering over 1,000 AP Exams for just over 500 students. Morning exams begin promptly at 0800 and afternoon exams begin at 1200 noon. If your student has an afternoon exam, they might test through the end of the school day and may need alternate transportation home.  Please help your students with test stress tips and test prep strategies. Reach out to your content area teachers for their best advice as we approach the test window. While these AP scores are not required to be sent to colleges or prospective employers, we want all students to try their best because they have worked hard all year learning the skills and information to achieve to their best potential.

Stuttgart High School Panthers

As the weather becomes nicer, please remember to plan for seasonal weather changes and bring appropriate layers to remain comfortable in our learning environments. As we near the end of the school year, especially if you are PCSing, remember to set your school issued materials like textbooks, library books, and chromebooks to the side so that these items do not get packed out with your household goods. Continue to monitor ASPEN for grades to see the full SHS calendar and remember that quarter grades average together, potentially with an end of course exam- then it is only the semester grade that will be recorded on the official transcript and be calculated into the GPA.

Please see the school newsletter for information that you may need to stay informed, get involved, and be integral to our panther community.

Readiness with the Registrar

This is a little reminder that thus far your student has not been re-registered to attend SHS SY25-26. Please re-register your student through the family portal: https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.do DEROS expired prior to 18 Aug 2025 or change in employment, please upload the appropriate documents. If you are not certain if your student will return next school year, we ask that you go ahead and register him/her for now. If it becomes necessary, we can always withdraw your student at a later time. Student not returning next school year? Please reach out to the registrar to obtain information in a timely manner.

It's time for School Year 2025-2026 Spring Re-registration (eligibility)! This is a required process for every student. Parents must submit a re-registration to indicate whether their student is staying in DoDEA or leaving their current location.

Parents must re-register each student individually by logging into the DoDEA Student Information System (DSIS) Family Portal at https://dodeasis.myfollett.com/aspen/logon.do submitting a student re-registration request for each of their student(s).

The re-registration process provides a quick and easy way for families to update information (contacts, Sponsor's employment status, student health) and indicate whether their student will be returning or withdrawing next school year. Expired DEROS or change in employment, please upload appropriate documents, and contact Ms. Matzke. Please also ensure to update ANY outdated contact information! Note: It is recommended to use a laptop or computer when using Aspen to re-register to ensure that the registration process goes smoothly.

Please complete the re-registration process by 28 March 2025. If you are not certain that your student (s) will attend SHS next school year at this time, please pre-register anyway. We can always withdraw your student(s) later). The information collected during re- registration will be used to determine each student's continued eligibility, as well as plan staffing, and resource needs for the coming school year. After your re-registration submission has been reviewed, the School Registrar will contact you if additional information is required. Withdrawing: If your student(s) will not return next school year, or you are having trouble accessing ASPEN, please contact the registrar, Ms. Ilka Matzke (ilka.matzke@dodea.edu).

Update from Ms. Gingles (lisa.gingles@dodea.edu):
On Tuesday, April 22, all seniors met in the auditorium to review upcoming graduation and related activities.  Topics covered included:  details about graduation, they had a rehearsal for several aspects of the graduation ceremony, and they received a second presentation and live demo, with more details included, of their SchooLinks Senior End of Year Activity.

It is a requirement that all Class of 2025 students complete this activity.  I will be in their English classes during the two weeks of AP Testing (schedule below) to meet with students individually to REVIEW their Senior End of Year Activity information and to answer any questions they may have.

Please assist with ensuring that this information is completely and accurately entered.

I have provided an Overview with screenshots.  (I believe a video of the presentation, with a demo walk through is coming soon.)

As always, thank you for your support.

Nurse's Notes

Nurse's Notes

Please ensure that your student's immunization record is up to date. If your student has recently turned 16, their 2nd Meningococcal immunization is due. You can submit your proof of immunization by sending a copy with your student or by emailing it directly to the school nurse at: nicole.king@dodea.edu

Additionally, to participate in sports at Stuttgart High School, all students must have a current physical on file. Current means that it has been within a year and that the year expiration does not expire before the end of the season. Students without a current physical cannot participate in practice, tryouts, or formal athletics.  Students becoming managers must also have a current physical on file.

Please ensure that you provide the school with a COPY, not the original, so that you have a maintained record as well.
